Many of you have followed my Dad’s progress as he fights prostate cancer. Posts about his battle can be found HERE and HERE.
Last week my Dad called to update me on his latest appointment at the Cross Cancer. This was his first checkup since his extensive round of Radiation.
The results show he still has cancer. His levels are a bit higher than when he started Radiation treatment.
He can’t go for anymore Radiation, and he’s already had the surgery. They are going to monitor his levels, and will discuss further options such as hormone treatment.
Dad gave me permission to post this, as he would love some prayers.

I will leave you with my Dad’s words after he shared his break-our-hearts news:
It certainly wasn’t the news I was hoping for. I had a pity party on the drive home until I stopped in Vegreville and saw an elderly couple that needed help loading their groceries. I felt much better after I helped them.
My Dad has always reminded me of Johnny Cash…the man in black with a heart of gold. I love you Dad.
We truly appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
From my Dad’s heart-of-gold to yours,
Christine
Tears in my eyes for you and your family, Christine. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs to you, my friend. xo
Thank you Sarah. I appreciate it. Hugs to you too. xoxo

Thank you for your prayers Amy, yes my Dad is an incredible man. He’s been through a lot in his life, and because of this he is compassionate, kind, gentle, and carries with him a great sense of humour. Proud of him 🙂
Christine, I do not know your father, but from what you share I think he is a beautiful person. The world needs more people like him. People that take the time to think of others. Thank-you for sharing this. You and your family will be in my prayers. Tears over here, too. Big Hugs!

Oh, Chrissy. I’m sorry the news wasn’t positive. I wish I had some wise words to offer you. But what I can offer is a big hug (imagine it).
Your dad clearly is a thoughtful, positive and amazing man who has raised a thoughtful, positive and amazing daughter. His attitude and outlook on life will certainly be a gift throughout all this.
My thoughts are with you, my dear friend. BIG HUGS!
I imagined the hug Elena, it was a good one! 🙂 Thank you for the support, and your kind words. I miss you!!! Big hugs to you too.
Dearest Christine, how I can understand a little of what you are going through right now… my Dad also is suffering with quite a bit of pain and is currently in the Cross after his blood count went very low after his first round of chemo this past week. I think about your family often and I will continue to pray for your Dad, as well as mine… I am really sorry you are having to go through this journey, but I know you have SO MUCH friend and family support to help you through the tough times. Your father truly sounds inspirational, and it is evident in the way that you speak about him in your messages to others.
One foot in front of the other… ((HUGS))
Cheryl, I am so sorry to hear you are going through this with your Father, and for all that you have gone through in the past. I think of you often. You are one of the strongest women I have had the pleasure of knowing. I will pray for your Dad and for you as well. Yes, one foot in front of the other… Thinking of you my friend. Much love!
Dearest Chrissy,
Cheryl told me about this just as we were heading to the airport yesterday. We have been in Parksville the past two weeks. We are very sorry to hear the news that the radiation hasn’t seem to help. But we believe God is in charge! We pray that in the days ahead, your Dad would continue to feel the peace he had helping the senior couple put their groceries in the vehicle! One thing for sure, because he has Jesus in his life, he is on his way to Heaven where there is no cancer! (John 14 & Rev 21) I pray that whatever happens, this will draw each of you closer to Jesus and our Heavenly Father. We have been with your family through many ups and downs over the years and we always come out on the victorious side because of Jesus! We love you and are praying for you as you and your family along with your dad, are waiting on the healing touch of Jesus! oooxxx<3<3<3
Aunty Luella, thank you for your thoughts, your prayers, and for being there for all of us as a family. I love you! Thank you for your comment, you always speak straight from your heart and I appreciate that about you.
Sending lots of love, hugs and prayers for your Dad, your family and of course, you Christine. xx
Thank you so much Cathy. We really appreciate it! xoxo
Christine…I am truly sorry that this is the journey that you, your dad and your whole family are still on. By sharing your story I hope you are able to receive support, prayers, and love to help you along the way. But in your true Christine way, by being so open and honest, you are providing others inspiration. You and your dad will continue to be in my heart and prayers. Much love and many hugs…
Thank you Linda, I know you understand what this journey is like. I appreciate your kind and thoughtful heart. You are an amazing woman. Much love and hugs to you as well!
